The Queensland Audit Office supports the role of the Auditor-General in providing Parliament with an independent assessment of the financial management-related activities of public sector entities. Our role is to provide independent audit services and reports to Parliament to enhance public sector accountability.
The Auditor-General is responsible for the annual audits of 339 diverse public sector clients including departments, statutory bodies, government owned corporations, local governments, Aboriginal shire and Torres Strait Island councils and by arrangement audits.
This includes financial and compliance auditing, performance management systems auditing, Parliamentary reporting and sector-wide assistance.
