The Drink Safe Precincts trial aimed to reduce alcohol‑related violence and improve community safety in three of the largest entertainment precincts in Queensland.

The trial was intended to deliver a heightened enforcement presence and support services for patrons and to maintain existing levels of enforcement of licensing conditions and laws.

We examined the planning, implementation and evaluation of the trial and whether it achieved its intended outcomes.
