Corrective services contribute to preventing crime, lowering the number of future victims, and promoting long-term social safety and wellbeing by reducing reoffending. Queensland Corrective Services aims to achieve this through the delivery of effective and targeted rehabilitation and reintegration services.

In 2024−25, Queensland Corrective Services reported that 44 per cent of adults released from prison returned to prison or another type of correctional facility within 2 years. It rehabilitates people in custody through programs, employment, and other forms of assistance to prepare them for a life outside of a correctional facility.
