In December 2008, The Australian states and territory governments signed the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness (NPAH). The aim of the NPAH is to reduce homelessness by targeting key groups.

This audit (the first presented to Parliament in 2013, and number six for the financial year) assessed whether the department is implementing the NPAH as intended, achieving the planned outcomes and realising the expected benefits.
